Leslie brings a wealth of expertise as a skilled calligrapher, graphic artist, and website designer. With a foundation in calligraphy dating back to 1978, she has served as the in-house calligrapher for a renowned social stationery store in Newport Beach, California. Over the years, she has also cultivated her own distinguished calligraphy clientele across Southern California, the Pacific Northwest, and southeast Georgia.

She specializes in two lettering styles, italic and uncial, each with unique traits and historical importance.

Originating in late antiquity and flourishing through the early Middle Ages, uncial script is characterized by its rounded, consistent lettering with few ascenders and descenders. Widely used in early Latin and Greek manuscripts. Uncial is most often linked to the transcription of religious texts. Italic script was developed during the Italian Renaissance and is renowned for its graceful, slanted strokes and fluid elegance. Striking a perfect balance between beauty and readability, it remains a popular choice for both formal and casual writing.

Leslie received training in the Seattle area from Microsoft in the late 1990s as an online technical writer, where she honed her skills in website creation and technical writing. She later discovered these skills added another dimension of expertise to her career as a land use planner. And with extensive experience as an accomplished graphic artist, she also specializes in crafting designs for logos, websites, and a wide variety of other projects.
